Associates Research Trust Uganda
Associates Research was set up in 2003 to undertake research on contemporary questions of policy and practice relating to the changing development context of Uganda and the greater Eastern Africa region.
They are a network of individual scholars, practitioners and activists with an interest in action research on policies and practices on land, natural resources, agriculture and livelihoods.
Since 2013, they operate as a research trust with a goal “to create opportunities for evidence based policy and programmatic actions that contribute to an up to date body of scholarly knowledge for development practitioners”. To achieve this we strive to:
Build partnerships that enhance the creation and uptake of knowledge for progressive change in policy, programs and investments;
Foster ethical standards and values in the conduct of research by building protocols for knowledge/ evidence-based services delivery; and,
Strengthen ourselves as a vibrant and influential source of evidence based knowledge on the Uganda and eastern Africa development context.See more
