The Mauritanian Association for Mother and Child Health (AMSME) DEI section in Mauritania, is an apolitical and non-profit non-governmental organization officially recognized by the state under receipt number 0014 of 08/02 /2000 fixing its attributions and the organization of its central administration. Its mission is to ensure support for vulnerable groups, the promotion of the rights of women and children and their full participation in the process of economic and social development, it works, among other things, in the field of the right to reproductive health, fight against violence against women and children, the fight against poverty, human rights and sustained and continuous advocacy with decision-makers.

The fundamental mission of AMSME remains the full support of abuses related to the rights of women and children who are vulnerable or in distress.

The objectives of AMSME are:

All Mauritanian women and children enjoying all their rights to life, to health, to protection, to education, to employment and to dignity, that no woman dies while giving life. To contribute to the fight against HIV / AIDS, to eliminate violence against women and children, to fight against practices harmful to the health of girls and women, to promote the rights of women and children and to encourage the self-organization and the development of national, Arab, African and international women's solidarity.
