Intercoton is an association aims to bring together professional organizations in production, processing and marketing in the cotton material, and operators engaged in activities related to those mentioned above, in order to enhance the efficiency and the cohesion of the cotton through, inter alia, the following:

- create the conditions for a permanent dialogue between stakeholders in the cotton sector
- promote the organization of relations, contractual, technical and economic planning among stakeholders in the cotton sector;
- improve the collection, analysis and dissemination of information, knowledge and operation of the cotton so that equal activity to different operators in the sector requirements;
- contribute to the establishment and / or strengthening of minimum rules of discipline among the players in the industry;
- combine solidarity and the distribution of overall economic performance between the actors;
- ensure full coordination of activities among stakeholders through the establishment of contractual rules between them concerning particular pricing, defining quality standards, the introduction of compulsory voluntary contributions so general, etc.;
- defend the general interests of the industry and promote the Ivorian cotton at national and international level;
- set and communicate the purchase price of a kilogram of seed cotton and the price of these inputs to producers;
- multiply and distribute on behalf of the industry quality seeds;
- manage the national filing room of cotton fiber on behalf of the state.
