Located in sector 9 of Réo (Koroly) 10 km from Koudougou in the Center-West region and 115 km from Ouagadougaou the capital of Burkina Faso , the Farm School of the Association for the Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture- APAD Sanguié , called Ferme Agroécologie de Réo ( FAR ) was set up in April 2013 for the demonstration and experimentation of agroecology practices.
During 3 years, the activities were diversified in several spaces namely:
- Market gardening area
- Breeding area
- Seed space
- Arboreal area
In this year 2017 , APAD changed its strategy within the FAR. On the 1 hectare of surface, there are currently 2 large zones:
- The seed production area which occupies ¾ of the space. Seed being the fundamental basis of agroecology, it is therefore for the FAR to produce peasant market garden seeds to make them available to producers. This project was launched thanks to the financial support of the Léa Nature Foundation, and the technical support of Terre et Humanisme, BEDE and CAPROSET
- The area accommodates and training which occupies ¼ of the space. There are accommodations that can accommodate nearly forty people, a newly built kitchen, a training room with fifty seats, a hut for refectory and a rebuilt seed house.
