The Auerbach Foundation was set up in April 2005 by Tjark Auerbach. He is an associate partner in the company Avira. From the sale of every product for private users bought in the Avira online shop five euros go straight into the Auerbach Foundation.
It goes without saying that the online purchase automatically links the protection of the purchaser with the protection of other people. "With this funding we want to help people as much as possible to help themselves," say Hannelore and Tjark Auerbach.
From the outset of the Foundation until July 2014, Hannelore Auerbach, the wife of the Founder, acted as the Honorary Chairwoman. In August 2014 Yvonne Auerbach and Steffen Heil took on the responsibility on the Foundation Board.
The Auerbach Foundation supports projects in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The main focal points are on Education, as well as Children, Youth & Family Welfare. Their goal is to protect people in the digital world. At the Konstanz University of Applied Science (HTWG) and the Ravensburg-Weingarten University the Auerbach Foundation, has together with the university executives set up two Foundation professorships. The Foundation sponsors these Chairs for ten years.
