About

AuthorAID is a free, pioneering, award-winning community-led platform, based at INASP. AuthorAID brings researchers together to learn and share knowledge, through its Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs), self-study courses, mentoring and collaboration, journal clubs, and discussion spaces. The platform supports over 14,000 researchers, enabling scholars and students in the Global South to connect with their peers, seek new ideas and collaborators, and develop their own knowledge. Many learners are based beyond capital cities and the platform is deliberately designed to be a lowbandwidth, mobile-ready, learning space.

The community is led by INASP’s Stewards, a team of experienced women and men researchers and research communicators from across the world – spanning Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Australia, Kenya, Nigeria, USA, and Mexico.

The key features of AuthorAID are:

  • A variety of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and self-study courses
  • A community space for discussion and questions where women and men researchers can benefit from advice and insights from members across the globe
  • A chance to network or collaborate with other researchers
  • Online journal clubs for a variety of scientific disciplines
  • Personal mentoring by highly published researchers and professional editors
  • Access to a range of documents and resources on best practice in writing and publication
  • Dedicated support to women researchers to enable them to progress their research careers
