Awareness Against Human Trafficking (HAART) was founded and registered in 2010 and is one of the few organizations in Kenya that works exclusively with human trafficking. Whereas other organizations have incorporated combating human trafficking as a part of what they do; HAART decided to concentrate its work to counter human trafficking in all its shapes and forms. HAART has therefore developed an extensive knowledge both theoretically and practically of the multi-dimensional aspects of Human trafficking both internationally and domestically. Exploitation includes for example sexual exploitation, domestic and industrial labour, child trafficking, organ trafficking, witchcraft etc. Human trafficking affects men, women, youths and children, although women and children are according to all data available, particularly vulnerable. HAART has since its inception trained more than 20,000 people at the grassroots level on human trafficking and assisted more than 100 victims of trafficking.
