For Ayala Foundation, corporate social responsibility is a vast landscape filled with great opportunities to improve the lives of Filipinos. Though we have covered much ground in over 40 years, we realize that more can be done to enrich the lives of Filipinos and help the underprivileged.
There are more disadvantaged communities and individuals to help, more schools to build, more children to educate, more creative minds to tap, more Filipinos to reach out to, more dreams to fulfill.
It is with firm resolve that Ayala Foundation works to nurture the Filipino's mind, body, and spirit through social development projects, environmental programs, information technology, schools, and initiatives in art and culture.
Our vision is to be a leading foundation committed to national development harnessing corporate social responsibility towards:
PROGRAMS
Ayala Museum
As one of the leading private museums in the country the Ayala Museum is committed to showing some of the treasures of Philippine art, history, and culture, supported by strong educational programs. This way, Filipinos will not only have an awareness of the richness of their past, but also develop a sense of pride in their identity.
With state-of-the-art facilities, Ayala Museum reinforces its position as the leading private museum in the country. The museum's new facilities, groundbreaking inaugural exhibitions, and dedicated staff place it at the forefront of cultural and technical exchanges between Filipinos at home and abroad and counterpart international institutions.
CENTEX
The Center of Excellence in Public Elementary Education (CENTEX) is geared toward the empowerment of economically disadvantaged but intelligent students, so they can achieve their full potential. CENTEX offers these children a learning environment that is at a par with the best private schools in the country.
Established in 1998, CENTEX now operates two schools -- one in Tondo, Manila, and another in Bauan, Batangas. Aside from maintaining high academic standards, CENTEX believes in the importance of helping children achieve their full potential, be it in art, sports, technology, ethics, or leadership
Community Development
The community development program of Ayala Foundation seeks to respond to the development needs of specific sectors and to build local capacity to respond to community issues and concerns. The program seeks to build communities that are able to define their own development directions.
Among the development areas covered by this division are community-based education and environment projects, livelihood skills building, and disaster preparedness and response.
Education and Leadership Development
Ayala Foundation's projects in education and leadership development seek to help bridge the gap between privileged and underserved students from various education levels. By building partnerships and taking a multi-stakeholder approach, Ayala Foundation hopes to achieve wider reach and greater impact in the fight against perennial problems in the education sector.
Among its major initiatives are Text2Teach; Gearing up Internet Literacy and Access for Students, of which Ayala Foundation is the secretariat; the Ayala Young Leaders Congress; and Enabling Education Communities.
Responding to youth challenges in the primary level, secondary level, and beyond, Ayala Foundation aims to contribute to the lifelong education of Filipinos.
Environment and Sustainability
The Ayala group of companies is strongly committed to corporate social responsibility. Ayala Foundation, through its environment and sustainability division, convenes the CSR efforts of the Ayala group--proving that the Ayala group gives importance not only to the growth of its business, but also to the development of the communities to which it belongs, as well as the protection of the environment.
The environment and sustainability division also develops and implements programs that seek to address various environmental problems. Aside from its highly successful solid waste management program, Ayala Foundation has programs in such areas as energy efficiency, clean air, and clean water.
Filipinas Heritage Library
As a one-stop electronic research center on the Philippines, the Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL) provides access to the wealth of the nation's historical and cultural heritage through its extensive collection of books and multimedia materials.
The Filipinas Heritage Library believes in the importance of going beyond the walls of its building and engaging with members of nearby communities, and even beyond. Through cultural festivals and educational campaigns, the library seeks to instill in Filipinos a sense of pride in their heritage. In addition, FHL hopes to contribute to the development of community libraries all over the country, and promote a culture of reading among Filipinos of all ages.
Technology and Entrepreneurship
Ayala Foundation provides invaluable support to technology start-ups and entrepreneurs through the Ayala Technology Business Incubator (Ayala TBI). Ayala TBI aims to identify, develop, and promote social entrepreneurs providing innovative solutions to social problems.
Now operating four incubation facilities, Ayala TBI does not only support business start-ups working in the field of technology, but also those that seek entrepreneurship opportunities focusing on clients who belong to the base of the economic pyramid, as well as on problems related to access to health care, clean water, and energy.
