Bail for Immigration Detainees is an independent charity that exists to challenge immigration detention in the UK. 

BiD provides legal advice and representation to migrants detained in removal centres and prisons to secure their release alongside research and policy advocacy to effect change.

Vision and Mission
BID believes that asylum seekers and migrants in the UK have a right to liberty and access to justice and should not be subjected to immigration detention.

BID exists to challenge immigration detention and increase access to justice for immigration detainees facing deportation through the provision of legal advice, information and representation alongside research, policy and advocacy and strategic litigation.

 

Strategic Objectives

• To challenge long-term detention and the detention of vulnerable people in detention centres and prisons and to improve their access to justice.
• To challenge the separation of families for immigration purposes.
• To improve access to justice for detainees facing deportation who are long-term residents and/or parents.
• To be a high quality, respected, independent organisation with committed and well-supported staff, strong financial and office management and a diverse funding base.
