About

Bandung Independent Living Center, better known as BILiC is a non-governmental organization of persons with disabilities or Disabled People Organization (DPO) which has the basic concept of the Independent Living movement or independence for Disabilities. Established 17 years ago, on August 23, 2003 to be precise. The programs in BILiC are of course appropriate and aligned with ADVOCACY and Paralegal activities .

The programs currently being developed are Peer Support (PS) and Independence Assistants (AK ). These services are an important basis or foundation in the Independent Living Philosophy, where people with disabilities are considered professionals in terms of their disabilities. People with disabilities know and understand their needs, therefore they have the right to determine themselves.

The 3 (three) main programs are the BILiC Service Base for Disabilities in Indonesia, which can be translated into various kinds of action and campaign activities.

MISSION

Improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities by:

-Making the Independent Living philosophy the basis for strengthening persons with disabilities to increase their participation and gain equality in society.

-Invite the wider community to understand all the rights of persons with disabilities and help fulfill their needs in accordance with the mandate of the applicable law.

-Help fulfill their needs in accordance with the mandate of the applicable law.
