The Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) was established by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation Ordinance, 1976 {(Ordinance No. LXXXVIII (88) of 1976)}, the Bangladesh Petroleum Act, 1974 (Act No. LXIX of 1974), the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation Ordinance, 1976 and the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation Rules. , BPC was run by 1976. BPC started its operations on 1st January 1977.
