Starting from a family-owned business called PT. Karman bank founded in 1969 and based in Surabaya, then in 1992 changed its name to PT. Mega Bank and relocating the Head Office to Jakarta.

Along with the growth of PT. Mega Bank in 1996 was taken over by PARA GROUP (PT. Para Global Investindo and PT. Para Rekan Investama) a holding company belonging to national businessman - Chairul Tanjung. Further PARA GROUP changed its name to CT Corpora.

To further improve the image PT. Mega Bank, in June 1997 change the logo of Bank Mega in form of letter M blue and yellow with the aim that as trusted public financial institutions, will be more easily recognized by the new company logo. And in 2000 changes made to the name of PT. Mega Bank to PT. Bank Mega.

In order to strengthen its capital structure, the same year PT. Bank Mega carry out an Initial Public Offering and listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange and BES. Thus some of the shares of PT. Mega Bank is owned by the public and changed its name to PT. Bank Mega Tbk.

At the time of economic crisis, Bank Mega sticking out as one of the banks that are not affected by the crisis and continue to grow without the help of government along with Citibank, Deutsche Bank and HSBC.

PT. Bank Mega Tbk. with the motto "Mega Tujuan Anda" is growing by leaps and bounds and controlled as well as being capable of leading financial institutions aligned with the leading banks in the Asia Pacific region and has received numerous awards and achievements at national, regional and international levels. In an effort to realize the performance matches the name it bears, PT. Bank Mega Tbk. adhering to the principles of professionalism, transparency and prudence with a strong capital structure as well as the latest products and banking facilities.

Each of the business stages being traversed by Bank Mega sometimes get its challenge. But armed with conviction and passion to continue to be the best, so as to provide the best also for the nation, all elements of the Bank agreed to further reinforce these ideals. The new logo of Bank Mega transformation into a new form becomes a reflection of the spirit of all elements of Mega Bank in realizing the ideals of Indonesia.

Transformation of the new logo of Bank Mega is done in 2013, is a deep reflection on the expectations of Bank Mega to start working to build Indonesia into a nation which has excellence and unyielding spirit, thus always able to bring prosperity and a better life.

The assertion symbol "M", which is already widely known, the representation of aspiration, optimism, opportunity and ideals of Indonesian society and the desire to build a future family, better and prosperous nation.

The series of warm colors symbolize the energy and spirit of Bank Mega, new ideas and comprehensive financial solutions for customers and insan Bank Mega. In order to further reinforce they pin yellow color depicting intelligence and expectations, combined with gray color that symbolizes the sophisticated processes and systems. Orange color illustrates optimism and energisitas which shows that the Bank Mega always look and do something positive and thus always strive to get positive results as well.
