THE MISSIONS OF THE CENTRAL BANK OF THE CONGO

Pursuant to Law No. 005/2002 of May 7, 2002 on the constitution, organization and functioning of the Central Bank of Congo, the following missions are assigned to the latter:

- to implement the monetary policy of the country whose main objective is to ensure the stability of the general level of prices therefore, to ensure the internal and external stability of the national currency;
- hold and manage the official reserves of the Republic;
- enact standards and regulations for foreign exchange transactions;
participate in the negotiation of any international agreement containing payment terms and ensure their execution;
- develop regulations and control of credit institutions, microfinance institutions and other financial intermediaries;
- promote the smooth operation of clearing and payment systems;
- promote the development of money markets and capital.
