Beckett Rankine was founded in 1888 as Robert White and Partners by the great-grandfather of one of the current directors.
The firm has has been controlled by members of the White/Rankine and Beckett families ever since. The firm has offices in London and Mumbai (details here).
At Beckett Rankine they pride themselves on bringing flair to the design process in order to deliver innovative and affordable solutions.. The Beckett Rankine team has decades of experience in delivery of marine infrastructure projects both in the UK and across the globe. Their team includes specialists in port planning, marine civil and structural design, hydraulic modellers, geotechnical engineers, diving engineers, master mariners and cargo handling engineers.
So what differentiates them from their competitors? Firstly there is their size, with around 25 staff in the UK they are smaller than all their competitors but this is because, unlike them, they only do maritime work. Their staff are all dedicated maritime engineers, they do no other type of project and as a result they are among the best and most experienced maritime engineers in the UK. The other difference is their independence; their competitors are now almost all owned by large multinational corporations who also own contracting organisations. At Beckett Rankine they are unaffected by the conflict that such ownership brings enabling us to provide their clients with truly independent advice.
