Entrepreneurship at the service of ecology

BeeOdiversity was born out of the desire Dr Bach Kim Nguyen, Michaël van Cutsem and Emmanuel Lion shared to protect bees and their ecosystem.

After completing their PhD degree on this topic and working as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Liège (Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech), Bach Kim wanted to translate their findings on paper into reality.

Bach Kim is an internationally renowned expert on the demise of the bee and the loss of biodiversity and sits on numerous national and international expert committees.

After a first career as a lawyer, Michaël van Cutsem turned entrepreneur and helped umpteen SMEs to expand their business. The decision to put their support skills at the service of a project that would have a positive impact for future generations was the next logical step.

Emmanuel Lion also has extensive experience of project management. They met Bach Kim and Michaël at a training course, and equally keen to become involved in societal entrepreneurship, i.e. entrepreneurship at the service of man and nature, they decided to throw their weight behind the project and help with strategic planning.

And thus BeeOdiversity was born. Since its inception in 2012, many who share and are committed to these same values have joined their team. Preserving and regenerating biodiversity - They devise and implement innovative strategies and systems to restore the quality of the soil, air and water and help and involve anyone who feels it’s time to take action.
