The Association for ecology and tourism ECOTOURISM-2016, Ohrid is a non-governmental organization with the mission of conserving biodiversity while ensuring that local communities directly benefit from the protection of their natural habitat. Currently we are running the project ‘’Improving the management and sustainable use of the Belchishko Blato (Sini Viroi)” (4 May 2018 - 4 September 2019) under the project ‘’Improving the management of the protected areas” funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The project will be based best EU practices on protection and promotion of wetland-friendly alternative livelihoods and initiatives, sustainable wetland monitoring and surveillance, conservation education and continuing networking, resource mobilization and capacity building of Debarca’s municipal authorities and volunteers for long-term wetland management. This will be achieved by the following:

• Monitoring and assessment of the key species/habitats in Belchishta Wetland regarding Habitat Directive;
• Valorisation of the Ecosystem Services;
• Sustainable tourism and recreation development in the Belchishta Wetland;
• Development of small infrastructure in support of sustainable tourism;
• Training for municipality officials and local stakeholders and
• Communication, education and public awareness-raising
