About

The Belgian development agency operates as the implementer of Belgium’s governmental international cooperation. Additionally, the agency extends its services to other national and international commissioners. Collaborating with partners in Belgium and abroad, it offers solutions to tackle pressing global challenges such as Climate Change, Urbanization, Human Mobility, Peace and Security, and Economic and Social Inequality, while also promoting Global Citizenship.

With a workforce of 2,000 employees, Enabel manages approximately 170 projects across twenty countries, spanning regions including Belgium, Africa, and the Middle East.

Mission

Enabel serves as the development agency of the Belgian federal government, tasked with implementing Belgium’s international development policy.

Aligned with the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Enabel carries out public service assignments both domestically in Belgium and internationally.

The agency offers customized expertise, incorporating Belgian public expertise, and advocates for the involvement of all partners while striving for top-level partnerships.

Enabel further amplifies Belgium's impact in international development by executing assignments for Belgian and international third-party commissioners.
