WIPO Re:Search is led by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in partnership with BVGH and several leading pharmaceutical companies. Consortium membership includes academic and nonprofit research institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and budding biotechnology companies committed to addressing the unmet medical needs of the developing world. Connecting Researchers and Funders
BVGH has developed a database that summarizes current funding opportunities for infectious disease researchers. The BVGH Funders Database captures research grants, fellowships, scholarships, travel awards, and other funding opportunities. Each opportunity is classified by what disease areas, research stages, and product foci it targets. Funding amount and duration, collaboration requirements, eligibility requirements, geographic restrictions, deadline, and contact point is provided for each opportunity.
Nigeria Capacity Building Initiative
BVGH is launching a leadership development and capacity building program, the BVGH Nigeria Capacity Building Initiative (BNCBI), in partnership with the Nigerian National Universities Commission (NUC) and Nigerian research institutions to create a stronger biomedical research and development base in the country. This program will identify individuals from Nigerian institutions and facilitate their hosting at international biopharmaceutical companies. Participating companies will provide the selected individuals with experiences customized to meet the needs of the institution and fellow. Training may include developing advanced biotechnology skills or gaining experience in various phases of the drug development process such as discovery, regulatory, quality control, or clinical development.
