Biomass Controls PBC

Biomass Controls PBC was founded in 2015 in Putnam, Connecticut as part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Re-Invented Toilet Challenge. Biomass Controls patents are based on protecting the environment and returning nutrients to the soil. Their Biogenic Refinery provides thermochemical treatment of high moisture materials such as manures, human excreta, agriculture residues and food waste. In 2018 they were chosen to participate in the Toilet Accelerator program and in 2019 they were selected to participate in the Cohort Council. The members of the Toilet Board Coalition believe that by accelerating the Sanitation Economy they will deliver significant impact to business and society. The sponsors of this event include Unilever, Kimberly Clark, Veolia, Water.org, USAID and unicef. In 2019 they were chosen to participate in the Manure Challenge Accelerator program.
