Biotrend Enerji, a subsidiary of Doğanlar Holding, was established in 2017 to become a technological generation and application center in addition to its mission of investing in alternative energy generation. As of the end of 2021, Biotrend Enerji has 13 active plants within its scope, including 11 biogas, 1 biomass and 1 waste fuel preparation and supply facilities. With their biomass and 4 biogas plants to be commissioned in 2021, their 18 plants which transform waste to power in 11 cities across 6 regions will meet the energy needs of hundreds of thousands of households.

As of the end of 2020, Biotrend Enerji has a total power generation capacity of 118,375 MWe under licenses. 104,775 MW of the power under licenses is from the biogas and 13.6 MW from biomass plants. The total installed power of the commissioned parts of the plants having a Generation License is 53,381 MWe and together with the 2.4 MWe installed power of the unlicensed power plant, Biotrend Enerji's total installed power of its plants reaches 55,781 MWe. In light of these data, Biotrend Enerji is one of Turkey's biggest players in biogas based on its installed power capacity.
