In order to create benefits that are greater than any individual player could achieve alone, the Group acts in concert with companies and associations that share its values and are outstanding in terms of their creativity, their commitment and their actions for the benefit of society.
Created in 1984, the BNP Paribas Foundation is the referent body with respect to corporate philanthropy within the Group. With nearly 180,000 employees in 75 countries, the BNP Paribas Group aims to support social development throughout the world through its many business lines.
An integral part of the company’s corporate social responsibility policy, BNP Paribas Corporate Philanthropy operates in 5 areas: culture, solidarity, education, medical research and the environment.
As the driver and the cornerstone of the Group’s philanthropic initiatives over the last 25 years, the BNP Paribas Foundation is responsible for advising and coordinating the philanthropy projects organised by the various entities. It establishes platforms for discussion and for sharing experiences. It also monitors the good governance of the structures in charge of corporate philanthropy and the methods applied in implementing the programmes.
Operating under the aegis of the Fondation de France and a member of the Centre Français des Fondations (the French Foundation Centre), the BNP Paribas Foundation strives to preserve and share the knowledge of the wealth of our museums, and to encourage artists and performers in disciplines that receive limited support through corporate patronage. It funds research programmes in high-tech sectors (medical and environmental research) and also supports education and solidarity projects.
