The Cape Verde, SA Stock Exchange (BVC) was founded on May 11, 1998, by government decision through Law no. terms of financial legislation, with the purpose of transforming Cape Verde into an attractive and competitive financial platform, it resumed its activity in full in December 2005.
BVC is the Management Entity of the Securities Market and of the Centralized and Settlement Systems and, as such, carries out the following activities:
- - Management of the stock market (trading and public offerings) and securities trading systems;
- - Management of the centralized registration system for book-entry securities and settlement systems;
- - Act as a national securities coding agency
- - Provide other services related to the issuance and trading of securities that do not constitute an intermediation activity;
- - Carry out research, consultancy, dissemination, promotion or training activities that contribute to the balanced and sustained growth of Cape Verdean capital markets;
Mission
Provide all economic agents with investment and financing alternatives, through the carrying out and intermediation of securities transactions at favorable conditions.
Vision
- Short-Term Vision – Make the means available and contribute to meeting the financing needs of companies and the State, and provide investors with decent remuneration.
- Long-Term Vision – A credible exchange in line with the best practices in the world, but adapted to the needs of the VC economy and the African countries, especially ECOWAS, and promote the expansion of the Cape Verdean economy.
