Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme was set up in 1992 in partnership with Bolton Council and Irwell Valley Housing with one house in Daubhill. Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme provides an opportunity for young people who are homeless to be safe, stable and develop skills for independence.

Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme delivers a range of services that include accommodation, support, advice and guidance with 2 aims:

  • Preventing homelessness
  • Increasing independent living skills 

In doing so they see improvements in health and well-being, reduction in risk of harm, improvements in finances, increase in self-confidence, reduction in use of drugs or alcohol amongst other things.

Mission Statement
Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme aims to prevent homelessness among 16 – 25 years olds by providing supported housing consisting of furnished accommodation and tailored packages of support which include emotional and practical help with all areas of independent living.
 
Vision
Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme believes no young person should experience homelessness. For the young people that do, BYPHS aims to be an outstanding provider of high quality, holistic housing and support services.

To empower young people to live independently in their community
To prevent repeat homelessness and sustain tenancies
To respond to emerging needs of young people
To enable young people to improve their social and economic welfare
