About BRA Dominicana, Inc. (Batey Relief Alliance Dominicana) is a nonprofit humanitarian organization, founded in 2000 by the board of directors of the Batey Relief Alliance (BRA), and incorporated under Decree 137-03, dated 7 February 2003 in the Dominican Republic. The mission of BRA Dominicana is to help create a productive and self-sufficient environment for the most vulnerable populations in the country, living in the bateyes, marginalized neighborhoods and rural / border areas with Haiti. The work of BRA Dominicana is located mainly in the Monte Plata province and serves all people regardless of race, color, sex, religion, nationality or political affiliation. The Dominican BRA projects provide services to more than 60,000 thousand people annually, providing primary health care, ophthalmology, dentistry, maternal and child health, prevention and treatment of HIV / AIDS, health promotion, tuberculosis prevention, training of staff health and community promoters. Another 100,000 people are being served indirectly by BRA Dominicana through their donations of medicines, medical materials and equipment to various partner organizations that work in other sectors of the country. Donations of lenses, medicines, food, nutrients, vitamins, clothes, etc. are made for all people served.
