ABOUT
FEBRABAN - Brazilian Federation of Banks - is the main representative entity of the Brazilian banking sector. Founded in 1967, in the city of São Paulo, it is a non-profit association that is committed to strengthening the financial system and its relations with society and contributing to the economic, social and sustainable development of the country.
The Federation's objective is to represent its associates at all levels of government - Executive, Legislative and Judiciary Powers and entities representing society, for the improvement of the normative system, the continuous improvement of services and the reduction of risk levels. It also seeks to concentrate efforts that favor the increasing access of the population to financial products and services.
The entity's membership includes 119 financial institutions associated with a universe of 155 operating in Brazil, which represent 98% of total assets and 97% of the net worth of Brazilian banking institutions.
FEBRABAN does not carry out financial transactions of any kind. The Federation does not make loans, financing, transfers of values, investments, fundraising for investments or receives savings deposits, for individuals or companies.
