Bangalore Rural Educational And Development Society is the Development Organization of the Salesian Province of Bangalore. BREADS assist and promote the development activities of NGOs, particularly the Don Bosco partners in Karnataka and Kerala. The organization is also part of an international network of Don Bosco organizations working in over 130 countries across the globe. They draw inspiration from Don Bosco, Priest and Educator of the 19th century, who dedicated his life to young people especially the marginalized. Children, young people and women have been the main target group of all the projects and programs, as they believe that they are the most vulnerable and subject to abuse, neglect and exploitation.
