The British Council creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide.

The British Council Tunisia office has been part of the Tunisian society since 1962. They continue to be recognised as the leading international educational and cultural relations organisation in Tunisia.  

They use English, Arts, and Education and Society, the best of UK’s cultural assets, to bring people together and to attract partners to work with them. They create opportunities for tens of thousands of young people annually and have over 7,000 staff in 191 offices in 110 countries and territories.

What they do in Tunisia

They work to build relationships between people and institutions in the UK and Tunisia, through programmes and events in the areas of Education, English, Arts and Society.

The British Council’s office in Tunisia was established in 1962. As a world leader in teaching English, they have have taught many thousands of students in Tunisia at their language centre.

In addition to teaching English, they also support collaboration in other areas and work closely with local institutions. They work closely with the Ministry of Education on teacher development and on a reading programme for children. Thousands of people in Tunisia use their online resources for independent learning of English each year.
