The British Embassy in Indonesia maintains and develops relations between the UK and Indonesia.

They develop and maintain relations between the UK and Indonesia. Their work covers a range of issues including building and improving trade and investment between the UK and Indonesia, and working with Indonesia on global challenges such as climate change, countering violent extremism, human rights and democracy, regional security and prosperity.

Development work and climate change in Indonesia

Indonesia is one of the world’s largest emitters of greenhouse gases with the highest global rate of deforestation. The UK Climate Change Unit (UKCCU) was established to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Indonesia. Up to 80% of the emissions come from land use change and deforestation.
