Management

The director is directly subordinate to the departments of communication, the department of risk fundamentals and research coordination as well as the staff with the two departments of law as well as management and controlling. The directorate is responsible for the political and risk-based official strategy and the further development of Swiss civil protection for the prevention and management of disasters and emergencies. It provides information within the department, within the department and externally (population, other federal agencies, cantons, operators of critical infrastructures). It creates legal and risk-based foundations and coordinates departmental research. She is responsible for the execution of official business, project management at office level, strategic controlling, the integrated management system and the strategy for protecting critical infrastructures, including cyber security. And it coordinates the key issues of international contacts.
