Why is Behavioral Science Important?

While they may feel they have clear intentions, our actions do not always reflect these goals. Behavioral science focuses on understanding these inconsistencies and building models that are more reflective of the human experience.

Gaps in Intention and Action

Programs, products, and policies are by nature designed to meet a user demand. However despite individuals' desires to engage with the tool, they often are not able to due to problems of motivation, attention, or memory. A behavioral approach to design aims to understand and predict these barriers to best enable product success and enhance consumer welfare.
