BuzzKID

BuzzKID is an EdTech startup backed by high-profile international venture capital firms SOSV (a VC and investment management firm that provides seed, venture and growth stage funding to startup companies in the technology sector) and M&G Investments (a Chinese VC) and is an institutional partner of the US-China Strong initiative with the mission of “Connecting Global Youth”.   BuzzKID's vision is to build an online community that is “of kids, by kids, and for kids”. On BuzzKID, youth around the world can safely connect and easily collaborate on educational projects with peer learning as the centric theme.   Young people around the world struggle learning foreign languages in the classroom, because they lack an authentic language acquisition environment. BuzzKID matches English-speaking youth with Chinese youth to discuss topics that are interesting and relevant to their daily lives in 25-minute video chats. Youth around the world can now learn foreign languages and authentic foreign cultures through the lens of their peers. Strategic Advisors Rasmus Rasmusson Rasmus Rasmusson advises BuzzKID in Product Strategy & Development. He has 20 years experience of developing Internet based business solutions. Rasmus was the Vice President of Strategic Marketing at Education First China. Rasmus has a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Stockholm University in Sweden.   Tim Doner Tim Doner advises BuzzKID in user experience. Tim has been featured in media outlets like The Economist and The New York Times for being "the world's youngest hyperpolyglot". Tim has a bachelor's degree from Harvard University. Other advisors are professors from Harvard Graduate School of Education, Fudan University, and University of Chicago; superintendents from some of the finest schools in North America and Australia.
