China Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG) was founded in 2004 based on the merger of the China Performing Arts Agency (CPAA) and the China International Exhibition Agency (CIEA). CAEG is the largest company of its kind in China in the field of entertainment and arts exhibition, with offices in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Lanzhou. It consists of nineteen wholly owned enterprises, two share-holding enterprises and one Stock Company, with China Performing Arts Agency (CPAA) and China International Exhibition Agency (CIEA) as its core member companies. With a history of more than 50 years, both CPAA and CIEA are China’s largest suppliers as well as operators of Chinese performing arts and art exhibitions globally. Moreover, they are the sole agencies in China operating global business in stage entertainment and art exhibitions. For more than half a century, CPAA and CIEA have gained rich experiences and won acclaimed reputation by undertaking thousands of governmental cultural exchange projects and commercial stage performances and arts exhibitions.

With great success, CAEG has organized at home and aboard such major annual festivals as Meet in Beijing Arts Festival, Asian Arts Festival, Venice Biennale-China Pavilion, China International Chorus Festival and others. Entrusted by the Ministry of Culture, CAEG, as one of the main organizers, has held a series of significant cultural events such as China-France Culture Year and China-Russia National Theme Year etc. Each year, thousands of shows, exhibitions and other cultural activities are presented in hundreds of cities in dozens of countries and regions attracting audiences of over 10 million annually.

Serving as a bridge of cultural exchanges between China and other countries, CAEG has established and maintained a wide and solid cooperation with world-renowned cultural institutions, galleries, museums as well as famed cultural companies, performing arts troupes and individual artists. As a supplier and a producer, CAEG and its subsidiary CPAA (China Performing Arts Agency) has worked with domestic and international partners to create and invest in productions. Productions like opera “Turandot” in the imperial ancestral temple of the Forbidden City, stage show “Shaolin Warriors”, multi-media acrobatic extravaganza “ERA-Intersection of Time” etc., have all received high praise from both domestic and international audiences. After the successful introduction of classical works such as musical “Cats”, “Mama Mia” and stage show “River Dance”, CAEG is to produce and present a series of Chinese version of classical musicals and Chinese original musicals with the help of international cooperation.
