Founded in 1945 in the USA, CARE helped millions of people in post-war Europe with the CARE packages known and loved to this day.
In 94 countries around the world, CARE is committed to overcoming poverty and surviving disasters. Particularly important is the equality of men and women and the special support of women and girls, where they are systematically disadvantaged.
Poverty is injustice. It is unlikely that more than 1.2 billion people live in extreme poverty. This is why the CARE package now stands for efficient, innovative and partnership-oriented help that has a long-term impact.
In 1980 the association CARE Deutschland eV was founded. Since 2008 CARE has been established in Luxembourg, there is a close partnership between CARE Germany and CARE Luxembourg. The association is therefore called CARE Deutschland-Luxemburg e.V.
The main office in Bonn is responsible for the implementation of projects, donor advertising and education and public relations work. In 2016, CARE Deutschland-Luxemburg implemented 125 projects in 37 countries.
