About

Casa Ruby provides social services and programs catering to the most vulnerable in the city and surrounding areas. The organization, which is run and led by transgender women of color, started as an idea almost 30 years ago when Ruby Corado arrived in Washington, D.C., and there were no services to support her needs as a young transgender Latina immigrant.

Stable living arrangements for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, from shelter for a night to long-term housing.

Intensive case management and social services from our diverse non-clinical social workers.
 
-Preventive Health
 
Services to help LGBTQ individuals who are at risk of acquiring or who have been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection
 
-Latino and Immigration Services
 
Assistance for LGBTQ immigrants transitioning into a new country.
 
-Support Services for Victims of Violence
 
Therapeutic and mental health support for survivors of violence, whether it is sexual, physical, or emotional.
