The CCS (Center for Collaboration in Health) is a non-governmental association with non-profit social purposes, with legal, patrimonial and administrative personality. The CCS was established in 2010 as a local partner of the Ministry of Health (MISAU) through the support of the International Center Aids Program (ICAP) and the USG. This organization comes under the transition process of activities supported by PEPFAR (Emergency Plan of the President of the United States for AIDS Relief), in the implementation of HIV programs in Mozambique, from International NGOs to National and Department of Health (DPS).

In May 2011, CCS started its activities by collaborating as a clinical partner in 23 Health Units of the City of Maputo covering the 7 urban and rural districts through an agreement with ICAP. In the same year under direct funding the CDC expanded its collaboration to Inhambane Province into 35 Sanitary Units covering 14 districts of the central and southern region of the province.

In October 2017, still under CDC funding, CCS reaffirms once again its support and partnership with MISAU, through the project entitled: "Supporting the Implementation of HIV and TB Services for Epidemic Control in the Republic of Mozambique under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). "

In January 2018 as the main recipient of the Global Fund, CCS initiates the project "Strengthening the National Response to HIV and Tuberculosis in Mozambique" . It is a national implementation project specifically for the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Niassa, Nampula, Manica, Sofala, Inhambane, Gaza, Maputo City and Maputo Province.
