About

The Center for Latin American Socio-Legal Studies - CESJUL, is a non-profit organization that emerged from an analysis of the deep gaps in legal training in Latin America, which translate into high levels of impunity and serious human rights violations in all their countries.

Their main objective is to contribute to legal and social academic training with the highest quality and ethical standards, and that are accessible to thousands of people throughout the continent.

Their team is made up of experts in various specialties and approaches to law, from more than 15 countries in Latin America, countries and disciplines such as social sciences, technical and forensic expertise.

Their educational model is based on the combination of theoretical areas with concrete and practical aspects for the development of professional skills, and flexibility with the use of information and communication technologies ICTs, which allow them a permanent dialogue in their courses with people from many countries and regions across the continent.

Thanks to the qualities of their team, they ventured into other areas parallel to training processes such as legal advice; research on social and legal issues, from a critical perspective of the sense of law in a society with high levels of impunity and violence; and consulting in the execution of social programs and policies, due to their commitment to populations affected by violence, youth, women, and people in special situations of vulnerability.

Likewise, they have a legal and interdisciplinary team that provides support to vulnerable populations and victims of the armed conflict in Colombia, in search of achieving their rights to truth, justice, reparation, and non-repetition, while advising them as interlocutors before different instances both public and social that allow them to make the right decisions for their organizational strengthening.
