For more than fifty years the Central Valley Community Foundation  has been a trusted partner in philanthropy in the Valley. Founded in 1966, we provide giving options for individuals, families, businesses and other foundations to invest in programs that address social and environmental needs. They work with donors and nonprofits to advance effective philanthropy and build stronger communities. Their staff has an in-depth knowledge of the needs in their region and the agencies and organizations that are working to find solutions. In October 2015, they launched the Center for Community — a collaboration hub for donors, nonprofits and the local community. Located in their Fresno office, the Center for Community is a driving force in leveraging the potential and impact of those who will shape the future of the Valley. Mission: To cultivate smart philanthropy, lead, and invest in solutions that build stronger communities. Their Region: As the community foundation for over 2.04 million people, they serve the counties of Fresno, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Tulare and Kings. Their region has a remarkable collection of cultures and traditions, unique resources and a caring and resilient population. Home to people from all over the world — Armenians, Asians, Latinos, Scandinavians and Azoreans — to name but a few, the Valley is rich in history, heritage and diversity. Memberships: The Central Valley Community Foundation is a member of the Council on Foundations, an association of more than 2,100 grantmaking organizations and corporations. The Council on Foundations works to create an environment where the philanthropy movement can grow and thrive. The Central Valley Community Foundation is a member of the League of California Community Foundations, a partnership of community foundations across the state of California.
