The Centre for Partnerships for Development (CAD in Spanish) promotes cross-sector partnerships through globalized knowledge networks responding to the challenges of human and sustainable development.
Given the increasing complexity of global challenges to development and the methodological deficiencies for working in an interactive way between different sectors, CAD has created a wide network of international experts in partnership management to face these challenges.
CAD experts design methodologies to advise governments, international organizations, private corporations and civil society organizations, promoting partnerships as interaction systems that guarantee the maximization of resources and permit the achievement of results in the development goals.
Likewise, CAD is a research centre conducting in-depth investigations on the whole lifecycle of partnerships for development. It provides training on how to identify, set-up, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate strategic partnerships and development cooperation programmes. CAD raises awareness on the need to work in partnerships as a way to respond to human challenges through the design of communication strategies and the organization of international conferences.
Its areas of specialization include international development, corporate social responsibility and local economic development, especially focusing on SMEs in developing countries, inclusive business and social innovation, Base of the Pyramid approaches, climate change adaptation and green economy. CAD also collaborates closely with the Base of the Pyramid Laboratory (Laboratorio Base de la Pirámide), an international network of research institutions that promotes poverty reduction through the development of innovative, sustainable and inclusive business solutions.
