Centre for Research on Filariasis and Other Tropical Diseases

The Filariasis and other Tropical Diseases Research Center (CRFilMT) is a not-for-profit Cameroonian association. It was created to address operational and research objectives in the framework of the control of filariasis and other tropical diseases endemic in Cameroon and Africa.

The CRFilMT mission is to support the Ministry of Public Health in its efforts to control endemic diseases, by offering them technical assistance on how to elaborate and conduct control actions on the basis of research findings. Besides, the CRFilMT contribute to the understanding of the epidemiology of endemic diseases in Cameroon as well as in the elaboration of means and strategies for control.

As concerns Onchocerciasis, they are responsible for the assessment of control campaign impacts, the surveillance and are involved in the management of severe side effects in foci endemic for both onchocerciasis and loiasis in Cameroon and Africa.
