About

The María Elena Moyano Center was born on September 20, 2000. Its founders, a group of professionals involved in programs to combat poverty. The Denomination of Center for the Promotion of Equity, reflects the main line of their work: promoting equal opportunities and contributing to closing the gap between poverty and wealth.

With the Name of Marìa Elena Moyano, they honor the leader of the soup kitchens of Villa El Salvador (south of Lima), who from her community led processes of vindication for justice and peace. María Elena Moyano Delgado was a social fighter, a Peruvian neighborhood leader, popularly known as Madre Coraje.

The Maria Elena Moyano Center is a non-profit civil association, duly registered with the supervising body: Peruvian International Cooperation Agency (APCI). It has been authorized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance as a Donation Receiving Entity.

Their job is to provide learning resources to fight poverty and keep the planet healthy; They do it through actions that ensure the responsible use of natural resources, develop skills for entrepreneurship and employment, and to stimulate strategic skills and competencies in primary school children.
