The Railway Action Association, Cetren, was born in response to the need generated in the railway sector to bring together in a single entity all those companies involved directly or indirectly in said sector.

Since its creation in 1980, Cetren has promoted, encouraged and disseminated the railway as a means of transportation both nationally and internationally.

Attributes that characterize us such as independence, impartiality, competence and experience, among others, are what led us to be notified by the Spanish Ministry of Public Works to the European Commission and the rest of the member states as a Spanish Notified Body for the “CE” evaluation. of the conformity and suitability for use of the interoperability components and the “CE” verification of the subsystems according to Directives 96/48/EC and 2001/16/EC first, Directive 2008/57/EC later, and, currently, Directive (EU)2016/797 of the Parliament and of the Council, of May 11, 2016, on the interoperability of the railway system within the European Union. These same attributes have allowed and allow Cetren to be a Designated Body by the State Railway Safety Agency within the framework of said Directive.

In 2019 they have expanded traditional activities with the Testing Laboratory, provided with qualified professionals and the latest generation technical means necessary to carry out the tests required in the Technical Specification of Interoperability of accessibility for people with disabilities and people with reduced mobility.
