The Chamber of Granada, through its corporate activity, looks after provincial interests, improving the economic environment of Granada and its province.

It has full capacity to act for the fulfillment of its purposes, which is set up as a consultative and collaborative body with the Public Administrations, without prejudice to the private interests pursued as provided by Law 4/2014, of April 1, Basic the Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation. Its structure and operation are democratic.

MISSION

What is the Chamber of Commerce today?

The Chamber of Commerce of Granada is a dynamising entity and engine of the economic fabric of Granada;

It provides value-added services to its members, with a high level of professionalism on the part of its managers and workers;

Its staff is involved in a system of continuous improvement of their work processes, aimed at achieving high levels of satisfaction both in the chamber members and in general in all those groups of interest with which the Chamber of Commerce is related.

  • Achieve the maximum capacity for influence, in order to consolidate ourselves in the institutional sphere, as the valid interlocutor before the different Public Administrations.

Foundation of the Chamber of Granada.

In accordance with the provisions of the Royal Decree creating Chambers, on August 18, 1886, the Civil Governor of Granada appointed Pablo Díaz Ximénez, Marqués de Dílar and Valentín Barrecheguren, President and Secretary of the Organizing Committee . Between them, they drafted a Regulation for the Chamber of Granada and drew up the list of merchants and industrialists that could be part of it. On September 12, they summoned the six remaining members of the Organizing Committee, also appointed by the Civil Governor, who at the time were Ramón Millet, Manuel López Sáenz, Antonio del Charco, Ángel González Alva, Manuel Tegeiro and Juan María de las Heras.

The Commission approved the work carried out by its President and Secretary and convened the merchants and industrialists of previously selected Granada, to hold the constituent session of the Chamber of Commerce in the premises of the City Council on October 3, 1886. To the call they responded 52 of the aforementioned persons who, after having extensively discussed the draft House Rules that were offered to them, approved it unanimously, with the addition of imposing an obligation on the members to pay five pesetas for a single time as a fee. entry. 

Next, the Board of Directors of the Chamber was elected, and elected by acclamation to President Pablo Díaz Ximénez and Vice President Vicente Arteaga González. For the election of the remaining members, two different candidates were presented. After conferring the various candidates, the following candidacy was presented and approved unanimously and constitutes the first Board of Directors of the Official Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Granada.
