Christel House India is a school located in Bangalore, India. It was founded in 2001 as an addition to Christel House International. CHI is a global nonprofit organization that operates five schools around the world specializing in educating youths living in poverty. Now, the school serves more than 800 children annually. Christel House transforms the lives of impoverished children by having them educated and having a strong character development program that are supported by regular healthcare, nutritious meals, guidance counseling, career planning, family assistance and College & Careers support.
Children don’t choose to be born into poverty. Most grow up never realizing their human potential. Instead, they face physical and psychological trauma—hunger, malnutrition, disease, low self-esteem and lack of opportunity.
Christel House is a holistic model designed to transform the lives of impoverished children. They do this by focusing on the “whole child.” They don’t just educate, or feed, or provide health care—they do all of these things—from early childhood through early adulthood. They develop the total child.
Christel House Works:
Christel House embodies the philosophy of 12th Century Philosopher, Maimonides—“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Their structure ensures that 100% of donations directly benefit children; administrative expenses are paid by their Founder and CEO.
