Circles South East is an award-winning public protection charity which works with the community to reduce sexual harm.
At Circles South East they don’t necessarily try to change people. That would be hard. What they do is to assist people to access the better, stronger parts of themselves. This is how they reduce sexually harmful behaviour, and the impact of such behaviours on survivors.
As the demand for local Circles projects grew it became apparent that an independent umbrella organisation became necessary. Circles UK therefore came into being in 2008. Among their many tasks are included:
Publicising the work of Circles projects through lobbying and engagement with the media
Developing new projects
Carrying out a regime of inspections to ensure quality control, good governance and the safe running of projects
A centralised research and evaluation group responsible for the gathering and dissemination of data.
Overseeing the development and roll out of diversifying projects such as Circles for young people and Adapted Circles
Circles UK have overseen the spread of Circles projects so that the whole of England, Wales and Scotland are covered.
