Citizens Advice East End is a local charity working in Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets. Citizens Advice East End provides free advice, information and advocacy to help people resolve the problems they face. Citizens Advice East End helped with problems involving welfare benefits, housing, debt, money management, employment, consumer, and family and personal issues. Most of us are volunteers, almost 100 in the team of 130 – Citizens Advice East End couldn’t open the doors every day without the amazing volunteers, who donated over 64,000 hours of their time last year. Their advice is free, confidential, impartial and independent. Citizens Advice East End values diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. Citizens Advice East End aims to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. Last year, Citizens Advice East End helped 37,029 people with over 46,000 problems, increasing incomes for people using the service by £18 million.   Citizens Advice East End are funded through grants and donations which support the work, including volunteer training and travel costs. Citizens Advice East End grew from three separate Citizen Advice Bureaux working in Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets since 1969, which merged in 2004 to become Citizens Advice East End.
