Founded in 1968 by the Dutch government, Cito was one of the earliest path-breaking national institutes for educational measurement. Cito became fully privatised in 1999. With its reputation already firmly established nationally, Cito rapidly achieved international recognition, expanding its network to include numerous committees, consultative bodies, both as clients and partners, throughout the world. Cito consultants have extensive global experience, having worked together with the examination and assessment centres of ministries in 30 different countries.
