Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program
Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program
About

The CCVLP is a small non-profit organization governed by a board of directors. They are funded by grants from the Legal Foundation of Washington and Clark County Department of Community Services and other small grants and donations.

The programs of the CCVLP exist because of the generosity of the attorneys who volunteer their time, the community service agencies who work with us and the many supporters who donate. They provide services to all who qualify. Services include referrals to the CLEAR hotline, consultations with attorneys, preparation for appearing in court and direct representation. All of these services are at no cost to the client.

Clients of the CCVLP must meet income requirements of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Most of our clients are on some kind of assistance or working at low paying jobs. Their legal issues are overwhelming to them as they struggle to pay the rent, pay medical bills, clothe their children or put food on the table. They reach out to non-English speaking persons by providing interpreters for all of our services. They have a special clinic and court to address the unique needs of homeless persons.
