Climate Change and International Cooperation Division (Fiji)

The Climate Change and International Cooperation Division (CCICD) of the Ministry of Economy is a Government agency responsible for the coordination of the implementation of the National Climate Change Policy (NCCP) 2012. The NCCP provides a platform for coordination among sectors, and direction on national positions and priorities regarding climate change mitigation and adaptation. The Permanent Secretary is the focal point for climate change at the national, regional and international level. The policy also supports Fiji in meeting its international commitments to the UNFCCC, UNCBD and UNCCD. The CCICD operates within the Government mechanisms and engages with a diverse range of external stakeholders including other Government agencies, development partners, civil societies, private sectors and local communities. The CCICD aims to continually build on these relationships in an effort to form strategic partnership for the effective implementation of the NCCP and its local climate change programs.
