Communities In Schools (CIS) is the nation’s largest and most effective dropout prevention organization. For more than 40 years, Communities In Schools has been helping students achieve in school, graduate and go on to bright futures.
Their school-based staff work directly on 96 elementary, middle and high school campuses in Central Texas. In addition to providing individual student support, they work to provide whole school supports, helping ensure school environments are safe and inclusive for all students.
Communities In Schools believes that transformative relationships are key to unlocking a student’s potential. They will succeed by including in their strategies, ingraining in their culture, and reflecting in their behaviors, principles and practices of diversity, equity and inclusion. As a result, they break down immediate and systemic barriers to create and sustain equitable outcomes.
