The Community Foundation for San Benito County was formed in 1992 by a dedicated group of people who were passionate about building a stronger community and enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in San Benito County through the support of philanthropic activities. In 2000, their Founding Benefactors pooled their resources to help launch the Community Foundation in their grant making work. That same year, they hired their first full-time executive director.
Over the years, the board has increased in size, and they've added additional staff - all focused on helping local organizations build a more vibrant San Benito County. Since their inception, they have granted over $6 million to a variety of local causes and nonprofits.
